1: Number One option

It goes without saying that getting the touches will make a player look better. That happened to Mikal Bridges when he got to the Brooklyn Nets. Most importantly, he looked like an All-Star.

He averaged 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in the 56 games he played on the Suns. When he got to the Nets, he averaged 26.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and one steal in 27 games.

Jumping up nine points per game is a massive jump. It wasn’t just a week or eight games. It was a stretch that lasted a third of a season for Bridges. That is the point where it isn’t a fluke. It just means that he’s that good.

Now that Bridges is going to have a full season underway as the number one option, he is destined to make the All-Star game at worst. Maintaining the level of play that Bridges was at to close the season is something has to do.

Bridges ‘ scoring averages may not be as high, with the Nets having scorers like Cam Thomas, Cameron Johnson, Spencer Dinwiddie, and possibly a rejuvenated Ben Simmons. Still, it will allow his assist numbers to be slightly up.

There is a great likelihood that the Nets will be an above-average team this year. With Bridges averaging around 25 points per game, solid playmaking, solid efficiency, and playing All-NBA defense, he will be viewed as one of the young stars of this league.
