The Brooklyn Nets recently debuted their 2023-2024 NBA City edition uniforms and will wear them a lot this season. According to NBA LockerVision, which has detailed information about what uniforms each NBA team will wear and win, the Nets collaborated with a Brooklyn-based artist to design their newest city edition uniforms.
A little more from NBA LockerVision on the Nets’ funky new uniforms.
“The Brooklyn Nets have collaborated with renowned Brooklyn-based artist and Nets fan KAWS, who has spent over two decades living and creating in Brooklyn, to design a uniform that fuses core elements of the Nets brand with some of the most notable components of KAWS’ work from his early days as a graffiti artist to his now globally recognized paintings and sculptures.”
What do the Nets City Edition jerseys look like?
Brooklyn’s city edition jerseys are certainly something. The reviews amongst Nets fans and reporters are pretty mixed, with some loving the jerseys and others, well, not so much.
What do I think of the jerseys?
Yeah, they are awful. I stand with Erik Slater. The Nets name being convoluted, with the E and the S not on the same line as the N and T, bothers me to look at it. The color scheme is undoubtedly something, with splashes of different colors around the sides of the jerseys. Brooklyn is full of diverse artwork, and I know for a fact that I really don’t understand anything about art or artwork, so I’ll tamp down my hatred for them.
When will Brooklyn wear these not aesthetically pleasing jerseys?
Have no fear, Nets fans; Brooklyn will wear these masterpieces frequently over the next few weeks, including tonight’s in-season tournament game against the Orlando Magic.
