The Brooklyn Nets lost last night in Oklahoma to conclude to 2023. Prior to the game, Brooklyn Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn seemingly took a shot at himself, his players, and the entire organization when speaking with the New York media.
Fans are not happy with Brooklyn coach Jacque Vaughn
Jacque, what kind of quote is that? I know Brooklyn is struggling, but my goodness. Vaughn is a young coach, so it's fair to say he is not a Hall of Fame coach, but he doesn't need to tell the media that. He essentially says in the quote that he is not the best coach, which is not exactly what I would call encouraging to hear.
Then he takes a shot at Brooklyn's entire roster and Sean Marks, the man who put the roster together, by saying their are no all-stars on the roster. That is true, especially with the inconsistent play of Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Cam Thomas, but what purpose is served by telling the media something like that?
Is he trying to get people to feel sorry for the ugly state the Nets are in? Is he trying to lower expectations? Whatever he tried to do with this quote, it did more harm then good.
