Four consecutive winless weeks for the Brooklyn Nets suggests they may not be getting out of the last spot in the ESPN power rankings anytime soon.

Current Ranking: 30

Ranking Last Week: 30 (no change)

ICYMI: Last Week’s Ranking’s

Even during the All-Star break, the Nets can’t catch a break.

I don’t even need to report that the Nets were ranked dead-last in Marc Stein’s ESPN power rankings for yet another week.

There wasn’t much going on in the All-Star shortened week, but the Nets still lost twice. That makes it four consecutive winless weeks.

While on the topic of streaks, the most recent rank now makes it ten consecutive weeks of being dead-last. The Nets are certainly used to it at this point, though.

More from Nothin' But Nets

But this week, Stein took a different approach to explaining his rankings He used the tweets of fans. For the first time ever, Stein asked users on Twitter to give their opinions on teams, and he attached some of them to his ranks. Of course he still came up with the ranks himself, but this time the comments were created by the fans.

If you couldn’t tell where this one is going, the Nets didn’t receive the nicest comment of the bunch. Here is the one and only tweet Stein attached to the Nets 30th ranking.

Ouch.

If the dead-last ranking wasn’t enough, all Nets fans really needed to see was the reminder that it doesn’t seem like there is any light at the end of the tunnel.

Just like any other week though, they will keep fighting. After a weeklong break from the court, the Nets will return on Friday to take on the Denver Nuggets. They’ll be right back at it on Saturday, when they will face the Golden State Warriors.

Big Movers: New Orleans Pelicans (up 10 spots)

After acquiring DeMarcus Cousins via trade, the Pelicans front court of Anthony Davis and Cousins can potentially be the best ever. They still have work to do though. Despite the 10 spot jump, the Pelicans are still just 16th on Stein’s ranks. We’ll see how the two gel in the coming weeks and how their rank is subsequently affected.

Big Losers: Sacramento Kings (down five spots)

As the Pelicans go up, the Kings go down. The loss of Cousins is obviously huge, and it’s evident that the Kings are now looking towards the future. They’ll have to play the remainder of the season without Rudy Gay as well, so this fall in the ranks was no surprise.
