Roster Changes in 2016-17 Season (cont.)

With the trade deadline looming, it was apparent the Nets would make a move, no matter how big or small. There were rumors of a Brook Lopez trade that would send the big man to the Big Easy, but with the Pelicans acquiring All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins, those rumors died out immediately after the 2017 All-Star Game.

With not much room for error, Marks made a smart trade just one day before the trade deadline. He traded sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic to the Washington Wizards for a package that included Andrew Nicholson, Marcus Thornton and a lottery-protected first-round draft pick.

After all these moves, it seemed Marks was finished, and this was the way the team would look from Feb. 22 all the way until Apr. 12, right? Well, not quite; Marks wasn’t finished just yet.

Thornton was waived by Brooklyn the following day, and the Nets acquired K.J. McDaniels from the Houston Rockets for cash considerations.

Last but certainly not least, the Nets waived Luis Scola on Feb. 27 before signing combo guard Archie Goodwin on the morning of March 15, 2017.

Needless to say, it’s been an interesting season filled with many moves for a team that has been looking for different ways to keep improving.
