Randy Foye

After spending half a season with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, Randy Foye decided to make a change and sign with the Brooklyn Nets during the summer of 2016. With plenty of other teams needing veteran leadership, Foye had other options. However, Brooklyn was the place he wanted to be.

Foye has stated multiple times that he felt Brooklyn was the right fit and that they are building something special and doing something right in the borough. It’s safe to say after spending a season in the family atmosphere in Brooklyn, Foye would be open to returning for yet another season. However, we may not see the veteran wearing a Nets jersey next season.

With Foye being the only player not under contract for next season, the Nets have a tough decision to make. While Foye played well with Brooklyn this past season and singlehandedly willed them to victory against the Charlotte Hornets in late December with a tough three-point shot at the buzzer, the Nets will be focusing on correctly spending the money available in the salary cap, as well as bringing in youth and new faces for next season.

With Foye not under contract for next season, his status with the team is questionable. It’s hard to say if he will be back in Brooklyn next season. While he was a nice fit with the Nets this previous season, Foye most likely will find himself out the door.

Verdict: Foye will leave in free agency
