Brooklyn Nets: Players on the bubble for 2017-18 season
Archie Goodwin
When the Nets waived Luis Scola, it was clear they were looking for a certain kind of player to fill their roster void with about a month and a half remaining in the 2016-17 season. After waiting over two weeks, the Nets decided to finally sign Archie Goodwin to a 10-day contract.
After his first 10-day contract, he would sign another 10-day before finally signing a multi-year, non-guaranteed deal with the Brooklyn Nets.

This leaves the Nets with the ability to cut Goodwin and save money by not having to pay him at all. This can be extremely lucrative if they need salary space to sign one of the big-time free agents that will be on the market this offseason.
However, that seems highly unlikely. Reason being, Goodwin played very well in the short span he spent with the Nets. Goodwin averaged 7.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in just 15 minutes of play with the Nets this season. In only 12 games, Goodwin showed a small sample size of what he can do and how effective he can be off the bench. A bench consisting of guys like Goodwin, Sean Kilpatrick and Trevor Booker can definitely be a big help and relief for the Nets going forward.
With that said, expect Goodwin to return next season and receive more than just 15 minutes per game.
