Earlier this week, Jalen Rose shamed the Brooklyn Nets on ESPN’s “Get Up.” His comments did not go over very well with some Nets players.

The Brooklyn Nets are rarely in the NBA media spotlight, but recently they were. Jalen Rose, former NBA player and current co-host of “Get Up” criticized the Brooklyn Nets on the show.

“I promise you, the Nets they play right here in Brooklyn. Those players are not exchanging texts with each other this off-season.”

It was a shocking comment to not only the Nets players and their fans, but the fact he said it while he was in Brooklyn was jaw dropping.

Rose’s comments did not settle well with many Nets players.

Nets point guard Jeremy Lin was the first Nets player to take action.

Only one hour later, Nets forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson not only retweeted Lin’s tweet but had some words himself over the false criticism.

The next day, Nets forward Quincy Acy also retweeted Lin’s tweet and tweeted out a photo and his comments on the criticism.

Spencer Dinwiddie would later retweet Acy’s tweet showing support. Dinwiddie later quoted a tweet from a supporter regarding Rose’s comments, saying “You said it, not me.”

The Nets player responses did not stop there. Allen Crabbe would comment on Rose’s criticism when approached by TMZ.

“I don’t know where he got that from. I feel like our team’s pretty cool. We all hang out together.”

Rose decided to take responsibility for the criticism and tweet out a response to the Nets players. Rose quoted Lin’s tweet showing respect and gratitude for the Nets standing up against his criticism.

Rose’s criticism showed that the Brooklyn Nets do stay in close contact during the off-season. This is a great sign for the Nets and their fans especially since communication plays a huge role in success.

Although Rose’s comments were negative towards the Brooklyn Nets and were not fact checked, the Nets players should use this at motivation to succeed and prove doubters wrong.

Rose should not face any discipline regarding his comments.
