At a Monday event, D’Angelo Russell talked about the 2018 NBA Draft and his Brooklyn Nets. What does Russell believe the Nets will do with their 29th overall pick?

New Era and Brooklyn Nets point guard D’Angelo Russell put on a private screening Monday of their short film “The Path to the Cap.”

The short film, produced by New Era, tells the story of Russell’s childhood, his Montverde Academy basketball experience, his college days at Ohio State University and his journey to the 2015 NBA Draft.

The film features interviews with Russell and his family, as well as with fellow 2015 lottery pick Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Following the short film, Russell sat down with the producer of his short film to talk about the 2018 NBA Draft and the Brooklyn Nets.

"Producer: “Do you think about who you’re team is going to draft?”Russell: “It’s so, it’s so hard man to put a finger on it because there are so many teams before our pick. We’ll just see.”"

Draft night is often fluid, with picks changing hands via trades and prospects rising or falling from where they were projected to be taken.

ESPN.com’s latest mock draft had the Nets taking Ohio State forward Keita Bates-Diop with the 29th overall pick and Jonathan Givony’s draft rankings at ESPN (subscription required) have Bates-Diop ranked 29th.

Givony’s most recent mock draft, however, had the Nets taking Chandler Hutchison, the wing prospect from Boise State. Jordan Schultz at Yahoo Sports also has Hutchison coming to Brooklyn.

Kevin Pelton, also of ESPN, ranked Villanova point guard Donte DiVincenzo at No. 29.

CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish’s latest mock draft also has the Nets selecting Bates-Diop.

Fred Kerber of the New York Post published a mock draft last week that has Brooklyn taking Queens native Hamidou Diallo of Kentucky, another wing prospect.

During the private screening event, Russell got his first chance to look at the Brooklyn Nets official New Era NBA Draft Cap. Looks like New Era got great praise with the design of the hat.
