Brooklyn Nets: 3 Players that need to step up down the stretch
By Nolan Jensen
To avoid the Milwaukee Bucks in the opening round of the playoffs, the Brooklyn Nets will need these three players to elevate their play down the stretch.
Despite what can only be described as a frustrating and disappointing season for the Brooklyn Nets; one that was marred by untimely injuries and a plethora of missed opportunities—they can still capture the 7th seed in the eastern conference and perhaps even steal a game in the playoffs.
But to do so, they’ll never to play some inspired basketball down the stretch led by these three players in which I’ll introduce shortly.
Yeah, offseason expectations might not have translated over to regular season play and the aforementioned reality of the situation isn’t exactly something to marvel at. But this is the situation, you’ve got to make the best of it.
If Kenny Atkinson continues to play with a tightened rotation led by veteran players he trusts, making the best of this situation would mean securing that 7th seed.
You could make a separate argument that the season is lost and the kids on the team should get some run, but thus far, the Nets have shown no real indication that they’re willing to throw in the towel. No matter how many times they’re floored with combinations of lightning-quick jabs and destructive hooks that would make Muhammad Ali’s chin appear human, they keep finding new ways to make the ten-count.
So, without further adieu, I present to you the three players that’ll need to raise their play to make the 7th seed a reality for the Nets.
