Nets star Kevin Durant is excited to watch Jamal Crawford cook.

We’re not terribly optimistic that the Brooklyn Nets will be able to propel themselves up the standings thanks to new additions Jamal Crawford and Michael Beasley, especially since Beasley is now out of the bubble, likely to never return.

We are, however, very excited to witness the novelty of Crawford shooting ’til he misses, as the Nets jockey for position in the East.

Also excited? Kevin Durant.

Though KD wisely opted out of returning mid-pandemic to play bubble basketball, he’s a Nets fan at this point, and he clearly approved of Day 1 of the Jamal Crawford era, based off his Instagram behavior.

J. Crossover really is The God, in many respects. Say what you will about Crawford’s current efficiency levels, but he’s absolutely built for a glorified exhibition, and he deserves a two-week showcase to strut his stuff.

Durant knew what he was doing, whether or not he pulled Sean Marks’ strings to make the addition happen.

The 40-year-old Crawford dropped 51 points against the Dallas Mavericks in what is currently the “final” performance of his career, capping the 2018-19 season with a flourish. However, he wasn’t signed after that performance for the entirety of the offseason and regular season, only given a chance under the most dire of circumstances.

The Nets roster has almost disappeared entirely. They need a hero. And The God is here to make things interesting.

Durant, sitting in confinement with the rest of us, had almost exactly the same reaction as the rest of basketball Twitter. He just wants to watch the magic happen, and even a static Instagram post is enough to get his juices flowing.

We get it, man. We want basketball back, too, and we definitely want rangy, fearless vets to be a big part of the experience.
