The Brooklyn Nets are set to host the Orlando Magic at the Barclays Center before going on the road. The Nets are in second in the Eastern Conference with an 11-5 record, while the Magic are in last place with a 4-11 record.

Brooklyn blew Orlando out by 33 points last Wednesday. The Nets have won three of their last four games since beating the Magic with their only loss coming to the NBA-best Warriors.

But this time around Joe Harris will be out for a third-straight game with an ankle sprain along with Nic Claxton (illness) and Paul Millsap (personal reasons). Brooklyn last played on Wednesday against Cleveland and were led by James Harden’s 27 points and 10 rebounds in a 109-99 win.

Orlando is coming off a 104-98 win over the Knicks, led by Franz Wagner’s 16 points. Cole Anthony finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Magic were down by two points with a little less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter, but went on a 10-2 run to close out the game and capture the win. It’s only the second time that Orlando has won on the road this season, with both victories taking place at Madison Square Garden. Embarrassing for the Knicks.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Orlando Magic betting odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBET, the Brooklyn Nets are the 12.5-point favorites at home against the Orlando Magic. The Nets are -900 on the moneyline and the Magic are +600. The over/under for the game is set at 211.5.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Magic prediction

Although the Magic are New York’s kryptonite at MSG, that won’t be the case in Brooklyn. Orlando is a last-place team that won’t fare well against superstars like Kevin Durant and James Harden. The Nets’ largest margin of victory this took place against the Magic, so we like our chances, especially coming off a victory against the Cavaliers.

Orlando’s four wins have come against the Knicks (twice), Timberwolves and Jazz. Anthony leads the Magic with 19.9 points per game, so he’s going to be Brooklyn’s main defensive focus. He’s shooting 42.1% from the field and finished Wednesday’s game shooting 5-of-21, so he’s not a huge threat by any means. The Nets’ perimeter defense does have its flaws, but it likely won’t be put to the test on Friday night.

We’re taking the Nets -12.5 and over 211.5 points.

Brooklyn 121, Orlando 95.
