Kevin Durant is playing like a man possessed for the Brooklyn Nets this season. He’s the sole reason this team is first in the Eastern Conference as he’s carried the roster amid Kyrie Irving’s absence, Joe Harris’ injury, and James Harden’s struggles.

In case you haven’t noticed, Durant’s been a little less active on social media lately. Has that directly correlated to the 33-year-old having one of the best seasons of his Hall of Fame career? We don’t really know, but KD’s previous questionable interactions on Twitter and Instagram had led many pundits and critics to believe he was thin-skinned.

And it’s not out of the question to assume that. When you’re a player of Durant’s stature, what’s the need to even pay the haters and trolls any mind? You’re one of the highest-paid players in the league, a two-time champion, four-time scoring champion and Olympic gold medalist. You’re literally above it all.

Either way, we’re glad there’s less attention on KD’s Twitter mentions and DMs and much more on his revolutionary play on the court. And if there’s any time to appropriately put the haters in their place, it’s in a situation like Durant encountered on Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

Kevin Durant’s NSFW response to a trash-talking Hawks fan was savage.

Good call by that Hawks fan to provide the league’s top scorer more motivation right before halftime. Durant led the charge in the second half and scored eight points in the fourth quarter to cap off the comeback to beat Atlanta by a score of 113-105. He dropped 31 points on 12-of-22 shooting, adding six assists, five boards, three blocks and a steal.

Nets fans likely prefer Durant saves the fire and savagery for on the court rather than behind the keyboard or touch screen. Focus has never been more important for the 11-time All-Star because he’s tasked with being the one constant on a roster full of question marks.

He without a doubt shut the courtside fan’s a– up with that late fourth quarter sequence, too. He blocked Trae Young’s layup attempt, which would’ve put the Hawks within one and then took the ball up the court and buried a mid-range jumper to put the Nets up five with under 2:20 to go.

All that’s left? Ignore that dude if he comes after you on social media, KD.
