The Brooklyn Nets will travel to Ohio to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Monday afternoon. The 27-15 Nets are in third place in the East and the 26-18 Cavaliers are in sixth.
On Saturday, Brooklyn beat New Orleans, 120-105. James Harden led the Nets with 27 points (9-of-15), 15 rebounds, and eight assists. Patty Mills scored 21 (7-of-13). Kevin Durant injured his left knee in the second quarter and didn’t return to the game. He’s out for 4-to-6 weeks with a sprained MCL.
Kyrie Irving will be available to play for Brooklyn in Cleveland after not being able to play in the team’s previous two home contests.
The Cavaliers are coming off a 107-102 win over the Thunder, a team that the Nets lost to on Jan. 13. Darius Garland scored a game-high 27 points (11-of-20) for Cleveland and added 18 assists. Rookie phenom Evan Mobley added 20 points (8-of-14).
The Nets will be without Durant, James Johnson (non-COVID illness), Paul Millsap (personal reasons), and Joe Harris (ankle surgery). Nic Claxton (hamstring) is listed as questionable and LaMarcus Aldridge (foot) is probable.
