The Brooklyn Nets are in Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. The 29-16 Nets are in first place in the East and the 22-23 Timberwolves are ninth in the West.

Brooklyn reclaimed the top spot in the East on Friday night after beating San Antonio, 117-102. James Harden led the Nets with a triple-double of 37 points (13-of-24), 11 assists, and 10 rebounds. Kyrie Irving had 24 points (10-of-21).

Minnesota lost to Atlanta on Wednesday, 134-122. D’Angelo Russell scored 31 points (10-of-18) for the Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards added 20 points (7-of-16) and Karl Anthony-Towns had 17 points (6-of-13) and 10 rebounds.

The two teams faced each other in New York on Dec. 3. Brooklyn got the 110-105 win behind Kevin Durant’s 30 points.

Durant (sprained MCL), Joe Harris (ankle surgery), and Nic Claxton (hamstring) are out for the Nets.

Patrick Beverly (ankle) is listed as questionable for Minnesota.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves prediction

The struggles that Harden faced in the first part of the season seem to be gone. His game is clicking with Irving back on the floor.

The Timberwolves had three full days off without a game, so they do have the advantage in that category. However, the Nets are back in first place for a reason and even without Durant, Harden and Irving have taken over.

We’re taking the Nets -2 and over 236.5 points.

Brooklyn 121, Minnesota 113.
