The Brooklyn Nets are back in action for the second half of a back-to-back on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets. The 29-18 Nets are in third place in the East and the 25-21 Nuggets are in sixth in the West.

On Tuesday night, Brooklyn fell to the Los Angeles Lakers, 106-96. James Harden paved the way for the Nets with 33 points (11-of-24), 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Patty Mills had 15 points (6-of-14).

Against the Lakers, Harden had no help on the offensive end and unfortunately, tonight’s game will probably tell a similar story. With no Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn’s a far different team.

Denver also played on Tuesday night and beat Detriot, 1110-105. Nikola Jokic scored 28 points (9-of-20), pulled down 21 rebounds, and dished out nine assists. Former Net Jeff Green had 20 points (8-of-12).

The two teams were supposed to play on Dec. 19, but the game was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Durant (MCL), Irving (out), Joe Harris (ankle), Nic Claxton (rest), and Paul Millsap (out) will be unavailable for Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Denver Nuggets betting odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBET, the Nuggets are the 2-point favorites over the Nets. Denver sits at -135 on the moneyline and Brooklyn is at +115. The over/under for the game is set at 220 points.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Denver Nuggets prediction

All five starters for the Nuggets scored in double figures against the Pistons. Meanwhile, only Harden and Mills scored in double digits for the Nets last night.

Brooklyn didn’t have an answer outside of Harden on Tuesday, and will now be tasked with the same issue, on top of trying to find a way to contain the former 2021 MVP. It feels like it’s going to be another long night.

We’re taking the Nuggets -2 and under 213 points.

Denver 115, Brooklyn 98.
