The Brooklyn Nets are in Wisconsin for the second time this year to take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. The 31-29 Nets are in eighth place in the East and the 36-24 Bucks are in fourth.
Brooklyn dropped its first game out of the All-Star break on Thursday night with a 126-109 loss to Boston. Seth Curry led the Nets with 22 points (10-of-19) and seven rebounds. Bruce Brown added 15 points and seven rebounds.
Before All-Star weekend, Milwaukee lost to Philadelphia, 123-120. Antetokounmpo had 32 points (13-of-23), 11 rebounds, and nine assists. Jrue Holiday had 24 points (8-of-15).
On Jan. 7, Brooklyn lost to the Bucks at Barclays Center, 121-109. Antetokounmpo had 31 points and Kevin Durant led the Nets with 29.
On Saturday, Milwaukee will be without George Hill (neck), Pat Connaughton (hand), and Brook Lopez (back).
Durant (MCL), Joe Harris (ankle), and Ben Simmons (conditioning) will be out for Brooklyn. Goran Dragic is listed as probable.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Milwaukee Bucks betting odds, spread, over/under
According to WynnBET, the Bucks are the 9.5-point favorites over the Nets. Milwaukee is -500 on the moneyline and Brooklyn is +375. The over/under for the game is set at 236 points.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Milwaukee Bucks prediction
We now know that Dragic is probable and Durant is out. While the addition of Dragic is a bonus, he hasn’t played in a game since November and won’t play a huge role.
It’ll be nice to have Kyrie Irving back on the court for the first time since Feb. 12. His presence won’t allow for the Bucks to dominate like they did in Brooklyn last month but it still won’t be enough. The Nets need to be at full strength against a team like Milwaukee and that’s not going to happen tonight.
I believe that the Bucks are going to get the win and sit at 3-0 over Brooklyn this year. Maybe by the time that Milwaukee travels back to New York City on Mar. 31, the Nets will be in a better position to take on the reigning NBA champions.
We’re taking the Bucks -9.5 and over 236 points.
Milwaukee 123, Brooklyn 115.
