If Sean Marks and Daryl Morey are going to make a James Harden trade official, they have three hours left to do so. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden wants to leave the Brooklyn Nets for the Sixers but he doesn’t want to make a formal trade request. Guess who took note of that? Kevin Durant.

Durant sprained his MCL on Jan. 15 against New Orleans and is expected to return after the NBA All-Star break. In KD’s absence, the Nets are 2-10 and are in the midst of an eight-game losing streak.

None of Harden’s teammates have publicly weighed in on the trade rumors but after Wojnarowski reported that the guard wants out of Brooklyn, Durant garnered attention with his Instagram activity.

With the trade deadline looming on the horizon, something as simple as an Instagram-like is all that it takes to make headlines. And KD (@easymoneysniper) was active on social media on Thursday morning.

Kevin Durant likes post about James Harden wanting a trade from Brooklyn Nets.

Durant’s social media presence is no secret. Most recently, both he and his mother tweeted at Stephen A. Smith after the ESPN commentator said that if the Nets don’t win a title this year, it’ll tarnish KD’s reputation.

Because of his injury, Durant’s had more time on his hands although even when he’s healthy, he has no issue with calling people out on Twitter.

Who knows how KD actually feels about the Harden trade drama. It’s all been an absolute mess. The differing reports have made it difficult to decipher what’s true and what’s not. Over the next few hours, the truth will come out.

If it’s true that Harden’s too hesitant to ask for a trade for the second year in a row, that doesn’t reflect well on his part. And to be honest, it doesn’t make sense why he wants to leave Brooklyn when Durant will be back in a couple of weeks and there’s a chance that New York City will lift its vaccine mandate.

A healthy Nets team with Irving has a better shot to win a title than the Sixers. However, if Harden wants to be traded before 3 p.m. today and he isn’t, it’ll be difficult to change his attitude for the remainder of the year, especially given everything that’s gone down over the past few days.

We’re going to stick with KD and Brooklyn. And don’t forget, the NBA All-Star Draft happens tonight at 6:30, one hour before the Nets tip-off against the Wizards. Durant and LeBron James will pick their teams and it’ll be interesting to see if KD chooses Harden. The timing couldn’t have lined up any better.
