Nets vs. Wizards prediction, betting odds, TV channel for Feb. 10 trade deadline
The NBA trade deadline is nearly upon us and the Brooklyn Nets are back on the road to take on the Washington Wizards on Thursday night. The 29-25 Nets are in eighth place in the East and the 24-29 Wizards are in 11th.
Brooklyn is going to try to break out of its nine-game losing streak. On Tuesday, the Nets were obliterated by the Celtics, 126-91. Jevon Carter led Brooklyn with 21 points (7-of-16). Both James Johnson (8-of-11) and Cam Thomas had 17 points (7-of-17).
Washington lost to Miami on Monday, 121-100. Corey Kispert scored 20 points (9-of-15) off the bench. Aaron Holiday had 14 (5-of-10).
Between the Nets’ losing streak and the James Harden trade rumors, the team hasn’t been able to escape the negative spotlight that they’ve been cast in.
Harden is out for the fourth-straight game with left hamstring tightness and he and LaMarcus Aldridge stayed in Brooklyn to work with the Nets’ performance coaches.
Brooklyn will be without Harden (hamstring), Aldridge (ankle), Kevin Durant (MCL), Joe Harris (ankle), and Paul Millsap (personal). Nic Claxton (hamstring) is listed as questionable.
The Wizards announced on Tuesday that guard Bradley Beal will undergo wrist surgery and will be out for the remainder of the season.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Washington Wizards betting odds, spread, over/under
According to WynnBET, the Wizards are the 2.5-point favorites over the Nets. Washington sits at -140 on the moneyline and Brooklyn is +115. The over/under for the game is set at 218 points.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Washington Wizards prediction
Regardless of the chance that Harden could be a Sixer by the time that the Nets-Wizards game tips off tonight, I think that Brooklyn will leave D.C. with a win. If this game was being played in New York, I’d have a different opinion.
The Nets need a win and a morale boost and it’s time for Irving to deliver.
We’re taking the Nets +2.5 and under 218 points.
Brooklyn 105, Washington 97.
